| JONATHAN BIOGRAPHY Jonathan Fagerlund is one of Sweden’s most talented young singers. In spite of his age of 19 he is very experienced on stage which combined with his warm voice he has the ability to make his fans go wild. Background Music has been a large part of his life as long as he can remember but his real career as an artist started in 2004 with his participation in “Super Troupers” a talent competition in one of Sweden’s major TV-channels. After an audition 2005 he became a member of the Irish boy band Streetwize and performed both in Europe and USA. He left the group with new found confidence and a wealth of knowledge of the music industry. Back in Sweden he began plans for his solo career with successful producer and songwriter Samuel Waermö who has been behind over 15 songs that have went on to become number #1 hits worldwide. Samuel has also produced six songs on music legend Jon Bon Jovie’s album “Bounce & lonely no more”. Their collaboration resulted in Jonathan's first album “Flying”- Many of the worlds most appreciated song writers have contributed songs for this album, including Andreas Carlsson (Celine Dion, Britney Spears) and Savan Kotecha (West Life, Carrie Underwood). The first single from the album was the ballad “Angeline” which became a radio hit in Sweden. The second single “Playing me” quickly climbed to number #1 on the iTunes chart, #2 on downloads and #4 on Sweden’s official singles chart. In the summer of 2007 Jonathan went on tour with Nickelodeon for their highly popular summer music festival and released his brand new song “Dance in the Shadows” which debuted a new upbeat style with a music video which quickly became a fan favourite. Jonathan says: “When I released my first album, I was basically a blank page. I had been on stage several times before and was not worried about that part but everything else around me was new and unexpected. I now feel confident that I have a good grip on all aspects of the music business.” In Spring 2009 one of Jonathans lifelong dreams were fulfilled with his participation in Melodifestivalen which is Sweden’s national heats for the Eurovision Song Contest. With the self biographic song “Welcome to my life”, written by Samuel Waermö and Didrik Thott Jonathan not only gave a successfull performance, he got an opportunity to express himself to the audience and the public, like never before. “The Melodifestivalen is the biggest and most exciting thing I have ever done and everyone who was involved in it was just wonderful to work with. It was an amazing experience!”says Jonathan. Jonathan was now ready for the next step in his career. In the middle of May his second album “Welcome to my world” was released. It was produced by Samuel Waermö. This second album showed a new side to Jonathan and featured much more up-tempo tracks than his previous offering. “I have tried to create an album that is not tied to just one type of music. There are songs for everyone on this one, so anyone can find a song that they like. Just like his previous album “Flying”, a number of very skilled songwriters are behind the songs. Among them is Johan Emmoth who normally writes songs for international superstar Kylie Minouge! “I am constantly pushing myself for a career both on national and international levels. There are many exciting and thrilling markets out there. Japan is one of them and a dream land to make it in says Jonathan. During the creative process for his latest album Jonathan debuted his flair for songwriting, and co-wrote many of tracks featured, including the up beat "Ready 4 It". Among the other tracks on the album you will notice Emmoths party song “Tunnel vision” and “Definite maybe” which is one of Jonathans personal favourites. The magnificent ballad “Stay” was recorded with a 30 persons violin orchestra. You can also listen to a duet “Save our yesterday” with Jonathans friend since he was a child, Alice Svensson who recently found fame when she finished second in the Swedish Idol competition 2008. Jonathan has recently graduated from high school and has now set his sights on working full time on his music career. He is in the middle of a summer tour and working hard for his next big hit. “There are so many people who tell you how impossible your dreams are but I have been lucky enough to fulfill so many of my dreams and I won't rest until I fulfil them all”, Jonathan says. Whatever happens and regardless if he reaches his entire goals one thing is sure. Jonathan is here to stay For more information www.jonathanfagerlund.com www.myspace.com/jonathanfagerlundofficial |
